BRAINGINEERS LAB is a family friendly Makerspace and STEAM enrichment center for adults, teens, kids, and families with unique hands-on workshops where everyone can unleash their creativity and acquire a new set of skills all while having fun! 
 
We currently offer several programs for grades K-8. Workshops for teens and adults will be added in the near future!
 
Here at Braingineers Lab, we are always keeping things fresh and fun! Workshops run for a period of nine weeks and then rotate.

Afternoon Workshops for Elementary and Middle

 

You don’t need after-school transportation, but want your child to join in the fun and benefit from STEAM enrichment? Great! Sign up for only the workshops you want! You can drop off your child for the one hour workshop and pick them up at the end. Check the schedule and choose your favorites!

 

For Workshop Only, Elementary workshops will be for grades K-4 and Middle workshops will be for grades 5-8. Please choose the appropriate time slot when registering.

Price varies by Workshop. Current workshop schedule and prices are listed below. Spring Workshops session workshops will begin March 18th through May 23rd (last day of school for Wilson County students). 

 

Tutoring by a licensed teacher may be available upon request for a separate fee, on certain days. Please contact us for details.

We have a limited number of spaces available for each Workshop. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Once those spots are full, you will be able to sign up to our wait list. The table below shows the days and times. Please read the description of each workshop, then to register, click on the "Registration" button. Once you click the button you will need to fill out the registration form. Then you will be able to access your parent portal in which you will be able to search and select the workshops you are interested, you can also review and sign our policies, add your family and student(s) information, make payments online, check schedules, review your invoices and payment history. You can also pay with check, contact us for more information 615.754.075.

There are no additional supply fees, all supplies are included in the workshops! A yearly registration fee of $75 will apply for each child, and a $50 deposit for each child and each workshop is required at registration to hold your seat. The deposit will be credited toward the total cost of the workshop. The remaining balance is due 1 week before the session begins.

Art Around the World

Through your hands and eyes, you will discover the culture of many different parts of the world, we will replicate different art skills and techniques used by various cultures. We will start our journey exploring our own country and then travel through Mexico, Japan, Korea, India, and Mesopotamia (Egypt), creating Alebrijes, mandalas, origami, mosaics, and more

3D Printing

In this workshop participants will be introduced to TinkerCad. They will learn to design their own 3D creation and then make it come to reality with our 3D printer!  Requirements: Students should be proficient with the use of Mouse skills like click, right-click, drag, select. This workshop is best suited for grades 2nd to 5th for Elementary and 6th to 8th for Middle.

Living Science

Imagine, create, invent & make! This workshop will surely unleash your inner inventor. Sew and make your own puppet, create a sculpture with paper mache, mix concrete and create a plant pot, make a wood crate and more.

Discover how to extract the DNA from a strawberry, learn how animals have adapted to cold weather, experiment with different kinds on insulation, hunt for Tardigrades and take a look up close at how they look!

We will start by learning sounds, letters, words, basic vocabulary and much more through games and play! This workshop will give you a great Spanish foundation.

Art around the World
Circuits

Introductory class to Coding. Come and make your own games using block coding, use our little bots to code a path for them to follow and more! This workshop is a great introduction for the basic fundamentals of Coding while the kids play and have fun.

Introducing kids to circuits and electricity! Kids will have so much fun creating circuits and understanding how they work. They will create their own games using circuits with makey-makeys, make some cool color changing lamps and more!

Robotics & Coding Camp

Braingineers Lab & Robothink have partnered to bring you this cool Summer Camp! Learn STEM and coding while having a blast in RoboThink's exiting 5-day robotics & coding camp for students ages 8-13.  Armed with gears, motors, axles, and motherboards, students build, code and play with robots of all shapes, sizes, and functions.  Starting with simple motorized models and building to advanced autonomous sensor robots, our certified instructors take students on a fun and educational journey where we cover robotics & coding principles, problem-solving and exciting challenges!  No prior experience required.
